Vienna Main Station: We chose a winner!

Vienna Main Station: We chose a winner!

Rewind

We had students of Die Angewandte designing our entrance at THE FIZZ Vienna Main Station, presenting their concepts to us and... WE GOT A WINNER!

11 concepts + 1 entrance = tough decision!

Nearly two months ago, I showed you the fabulous concepts of Klasse Kartak’s students for our entrance at THE FIZZ Vienna Main Station. Sylvia, our project manager, and I had our favorites, of course. Still, we couldn’t neither did we want to make this decision on our own. That’s why we asked not only all our colleagues but also ALL FIZZies in Germany and Austria for their opinion.

A neck-and-neck race

Everyone was asked to participate in our vote within a week. Over this course of time, I regularly checked the interim results (Even if I had wanted to, I wouldn’t have been able to resist sneaking a peek!). It really was a neck-and-neck race between two wonderful concepts:

Urban Jungle vs. LED there be light

Two concepts creating the impression of entering another world or even universe. Would you rather dive into the jungle or into a dynamic and adjustable space of… well, whatever you want the LEDs to show? It really was a tough decision to make but I don’t want to keep you guys in torture any longer. And the winner iiiiis…

URBAN JUNGLE!

Preview of the entrance at THE FIZZ Vienna Main Station
Thanks to the two young talented artists Monika and Dominik for their amazing work!

And what did the winners say?

They were absolutely happy! Yesterday, we visited all students during class to unravel the big mystery and to give the prize. I might have to crash your imagination of us arriving there with a big suitcase full of money at this point. We symbolically awarded Monika and Dominik with huge checks!

Winners of Die Angewandte in Vienna
Besides these two checks, Monika and Domink also were given one of our FIZZbags each. Seems like I was struggling a bit to hand them over 😛

Either way, once again I want to give special and huge thanks to Oliver Kartak and all the other students of his class for their wonderful work. Every concept was one of its kind and definitely realizable! For our (potential?) next house, we can definitely imagine to repeat this competition.

No award ceremony without a photo of all participants and project managers at the end. But there’s one surprise guest… Can you spot him/her?

What will happen next?

First of all, our two lucky winners will finish their semester and then enjoy their well-deserved summer break before we start with the implementation of their artwork in Autumn. In the meantime, however, will meet up at THE FIZZ Vienna Main Station to visit the place where all the magic will happen. We also have to decide on the final concept which will be implemented… Better stay tuned for some more updates in our blog!
